David and his wife Fleur,
together run 'Spineless Wonders'
an invertebrate education business which celebrates its' 10th
year of sharing the importance of invertebrates and to give these
animals and their habitat the respect they deserve.
David
is also working on his life's work, a 2 volume photographic reference
book on Australian Jewel Beetles. He has taken 27
years to photograph nearly 1,000 species, and has only 400 to
go! We would welcome hearing from a financial sponsor
to complete this dream. David and Fleur live in Perth
Western Australia with their daughter Carlia.

The sample photographic collection contained in this website covers
28 years of wildlife-oriented exploration centred in the Australasian
region. David Knowles is the primary author of the
bulk of photos with occasional contributions by his wife Fleur.

Whilst David has contributed most of the photography shown in this
site specialising in the South-east Asian Region (with one quick
European fling) it is Fleur who is the great
eater of world kilometres in our relationship.
Most of our travel occurred utterly without knowledge of each other’s
existence until
fate brought us together in 1991.
