AUSTRALASIAN CAMOUFLAGE
(Special cases)

This is where the art of camouflage is taken to extremes in a number of complex ways; whole
pieces of bird dung, or even employing silk to ‘paint-on’ the splatter of uric acid (the white part
of bird dung); a stem with a piece of unripe fruit at the end; and using your silk as a background
on which to camouflage, are just some of the incredible adaptations used by small animals to
avoid, and sometimes assist in, predation.
